Now that is cool!
maybe we should get you to come up with a club logo sometime.... (nothing wrong with the current one)
Can I be so bold as to ask for you to make a signature picture for me?
green with a white roof.... and princess...
a bit like yours...

Send me a pic of your car, so I can get the wheels and such done proper.Admin wrote:Now that is cool!

I've been thinking about the logo. I might do up a couple of different ideas, if I'm not being too cheeky.

Just playing around with the existing logo. What do you think? Adds a bit of pop doesn't it?

Maybe we could each have our own on the colours of our car?

Trying to save printing costs by any chance? We'd have to double the membership fee to get our newsletter in colour !!

What do you all think about this? Suggestions are welcome. I could leave off the mirrors, or add door hinges, etc. Sorry I haven't done up a set of full wheel trims yet, I'm using my Exactons and Discoman's SlotMags. Anyone have a good pic of wheel covers at the same angle as my drawings?

Re: I do this for fun
That is fab!!
Mind you, I am slightly biased towards the Damask Red / Whitehall beige option.
The club does have a newsletter - membership's a bargain at only a fiver or £10 (I think) for international members- you can download a membership form from www.elf-hornet-register.co.uk or contact Big Al.
Hope you decide to join us!

I've been a member for a while now, just didn't know about the newsletter. Maybe when the new site get up it'll be available online.

Anymore thoughts on asking who wants electronic copy of the newsletter and who wants hard copy???
What happens for newsletters to our overseas "members"? (Just thinking of keeping costs down......

overseas members get the newsletter in the post just like everyone else, though it costs a little more to send and takes a little longer to get there...!
come the new year, i'll think about seeing who wants the newsletter via email and who wants it the old fashioned way - keep in mind we have many senior members who don't have the internet - e.g. 160 members and we have thirty odd on this forum
Re: I do this for fun
Now you have had the registration made easier, the number on the Forum should increase dramatically. There's a lot of "silver surfers" like myself you know! A little note on the news letter may do wonders for this cracking forum.
As for overseas members. I guess they found this club on the "net" so they must have access to a pc. I guess most of us are on broadband now so club postage costs will come down if all members who are "online" agree to receiving the news letter by email. (I, for one will be quite happy to do so, and a lot of others too?)

use mine, use mine
I know it may be a little biased but you could use the pic of my hornet from the pics section of the site, 3/4 angle photo with door hinges, no mirror and white wall tyres (tires) with original trims, perfect!

Re: I do this for fun
My wife Laurie is the graphic designer who developed the Register logo, the white/black background with the script. I think we still have some of the original batch of the window decals. Someone later modified this for use as this forum's logo, with the car outlines added.
[edited to remove my earlier misinformed opinionated rant. I need to learn to ask first and type later. Hope I have this correct now.]
I don't have a copy of the newsletter here, to compare logos. But anyway, I consider this evolution of the logo, the script plus the cars plus the contrasting background, to be elegantly simple, it conveys the message perfectly...one of those designs that makes you slap your forehead when you first see it, why didn't I think of that.

Re: I do this for fun
Oh, so that's where it came from originally. I helped John finesse it a bit for the forum. I did a small batch of decals to take to MME with the 50th Anniversary added to them.
I'll trade you for one of your originals if you want.
