Some lovely equipment you have there John and I thought I was extravagant buying three digital cameras!
You have some good close up shots of them, very commercial type photos.
Question is , How the hell do you carry them all and how do you choose which one to use? Shocked
I think I will stick to my Olympus FE-210 (7.1m pixels) and C-700 (2.1m pixels) I have a problem deciding between those two alone! Laughing

Excellent equipment there!
(i used to do photography when i was 15, and used 35mm, and a minolta xgm! ancient!)

im looking at starting it again, what sort of lens would you reccomend for real close up shots (of insects etc)?

aboviously a macro lense, and a full length macro!

some are only macro at the extremity of the lens.
for example 70-300mm but only 180-300 is macro!

or if you would like a multi lens, then buy a lens as above with some extention tubes.
these make the longest zoom shorter. so your 180-300mm macro could become 70mm+ macro.

but in an ideal world get a short focal length.
possibly wide angle? they allow more light in, but also will show more area around the insect.

at the end of the day, budget will effect your equipment choice!
I am biased toward Pentax bodies, but as for glass, then anything goes!
