AAARGHHH ! A BROKEN THROTTLE CABLE IN FRIDAY EVENING RUSH-HOUR TRAFFIC :
It should not happen to a Bishop !
A sudden loss of throttle pedal in busy Friday evening rush-hour traffic.
The cable had broken at the accelerator pedal end.
Luckily I carry a spare throttle cable always (a rally lesson well learnt).
However, the quick fix was to turn up the tick-over adjusters or my twin S.U.carbs.which allowed a 20mph return to home.
I've been told that a throttle cable fix is a doddle - 30 mins max !!
Maybe if you are only replacing the inner cable - but my replacement cable was about 6 inches shorter than the broken one -
So I had no choice - I had to replace both the outer & inner cable.
90 minutes later - normal service had been resumed.

(With hindsight) note to oneself. Always buy a spare throttle cable same length as existing! or the inner cable at least!
